Kinderdance/Pre-Ballet
Ages: 3-5 years
Content: Simple dance steps and using props are fun and energizing ways for children to develop motor skills and
expand their imagination. The introduction of basic ballet movements and vocabulary provides structure, improves
coordination, and challenges the memory.

Ballet 1
Ages: 6-8 years
Content: Introduces boys and girls to the fundamentals of ballet technique. Focuses on proper posture, body
positions, and alignment while building ballet vocabulary.

Ballet 2
Ages: 8-11 years
Content: Enhances students’ physical and mental discipline while re-affirming posture, placement, flexibility, and
strength. Students learn performance skills and basic music fundamentals while cultivating self-confidence and
presence.

Ballet 3
Ages: 10 years and over
Content: Introduces the elements of a more formal ballet class emphasizing the importance of form, musicality, and
presence. Ballet 3 may sometimes be found combined with a Ballet 2 or Ballet 4 class to gain the proper strength and
technical skills necessary to meet their full potential.

Ballet 4
Ages: 12 years and over
Content: Elevates experienced young dancers into a technically more demanding level. Emphasis is placed on
coordination, musicality, and technical proficiency as dancers learn how to execute ballet combinations and
choreography both in the center and across the floor. Students are encouraged to take two or three classes per week
to achieve optimum results in their advancement.

Pointe/Pre-Pointe
Ages: 12 years and over
Content: Classes for pre-pointe to advanced studies are taught. It is recommended that the students are 12 years of
age with several years of ballet experience and the consent of the instructor. Students are required to attend at least
two ballet classes per week.

Content: Modern dance is a free form of dance. Classes will explore movements through creativity and concepts.

9th Annual “Peter and the Wolf”
Ages: 4 years and over
Content: A colorful visualization of Prokofiev’s “musical tale”. Dancers and actors will audition for, be cast is and
rehearse for a dance production that will be performed on March 5th at St. John Fisher College. Informational meeting
to be held on January 13th from 5:30-5:45 pm. With auditions for participants to follow from 5:45-6:30 pm. All
participants will get a part. No experience necessary. This production is complete with sets, props, masks and colorful
costumes, all of which will be provided.

Ages: 3 years and over
Content: Lewis Carroll’s engaging fantasy story is brought to life in this production. Join Alice on her adventures into a
world of enchantment. This dance production will be performed on April 27th at St. John Fisher College. Informational
meeting to be held on January 13th from 6:30-6:45 pm with auditions for participants to follow from 6:45-7:30 pm. All
participants get a part. Rehearsals held on Saturdays with times varying between 2:00-6:00 pm at the Perinton
Community Center. No experience necessary. This production is complete with sets, props, masks and colorful
costumes, all of which are provided.

I’m Cocoa For You

this class. Instructor will supervise children in between classes.
